The possibility of resuming talks on a Transdniestrian settlement was discussed during Russian-U.S. consultations with the participation of Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin and U.S. Assistant Deputy Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs David J. Kramer at the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The parties discussed problems of the Transdniestrian settlement, as well as some issues related to Russian-U.S. bilateral relations, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement published on Friday.

Russian-U.S. consultations on a Transdniestrian settlement with the participation of Kramer and special envoys of the Russian Foreign Ministry Valery Kenyaikin and Valery Nesterushkin also took place at the ministry, the statement says.

"Participants of the consultations paid particular attention to the discussion of the current situation in the region, as well prospect and possibilities to resume talks with the participation of political representatives from Moldovan and Transdniestria," the document says.
