The General Assembly of the International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights adopted a declaration where it mentioned the repressive role of the security structures of the Transdniestrian breakaway republic and declared the Transdniestrian region area of special concern, under the conditions in which the residents of this region do not have access to international and European mechanisms for human rights protection. The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI) shares federation's concerns.

Representatives of the Helsinki Committees and of other organizations for human rights from Europe, Central Asia and North America met in Budapest at the General Assembly of the International Helsinki Federation on November 20-22. According to MFAEI, the participants in the forum expressed their concern over the violation of human rights in the OSCE space and the challenges the civil society structures and people dealing with the protection of human rights face.

The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration stated that Transdniestrias democratization is a matter of great importance in the settlement of the Transdniestrian dispute. // Reporter.MD
