MOSCOW. (Interfax) - The draft law on the status of Transdniestria developed by Moldova and handed to mediators of the conflict is a preparation for a new ultimatum, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.

"A new ultimatum is being prepared similar to recent documents from the Moldovan parliament, which demanded the unilateral disarmament of Transdniestria, completion of the current peacekeeping operation and an unconditional extension Chisinau's jurisdiction to the whole region," the ministry said in a statement.

"The Moldovan leadership's stance on Tiraspol is getting even more severe than it was after the period of armed conflict," it said.
