INA Chisinau, December 22, INTERLIC. Transdniestria has declared that it will never agree to the change of the existing format of the Peacekeeping forces and the ousting of Russia at the cost of involving the western countries into the settlement of the Transdniestrian conflict.

As INTERLIC News agency reports with reference to the Olvia press service, Speaker of the Transdniestrian Supreme Council Grigore Marakutsa declared it at a press conference on the eve.

He has noted that Transdniestria is a part of a Slavic world and people, living there found support and understanding on the East for many centuries.

Grigore Marakutsa designated the attempts by the Moldovan authorities to change the format of the peacekeeping operation as hopeless. We see that Chisinau is trying to involve the western countries into the settlement of the Transdniestrian conflict. We are not going to change our position in respect of the Russian military presence in Transdniestria?, Transdniestrian Speaker declared.

It should be noted that the Official Chisinau insists on the withdrawal of the Russian Armed Forces and on the change of the five-sided format of the talks, where Russia, Ukraine, the OSCE, Moldova and Transdniestria participate. The RM authorities called upon the USA and the European Union to take a more active part in the settlement of the Transdniestrian conflict.
