Transdniestrian refugees petition against Moldova and Russia

A group of refugees from Transdniestria submitted petitions against Moldova and Russia at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).
Anatolii Bazgu, chairman of the Association of Internally Displaced People in Moldova, told Monday a press conference that over 50 members of the association have already submitted petitions to ECHR accusing the Moldovan authorities of non-fulfillment of the governmental decision regarding the plan of action for the provision of internally displaced people with houses? and of the courts ruling concerning the same matter.
According to the refugees, the Russian authorities are to blame for the fact that it provides military, economic and political support for the separatist Transdniestrian regime?. The petitioners ask 200,000 euros in damages for each, 50,000 euros to be paid by Moldova and 150,000 euros by Russia.
The quoted source specified that another 14 members of the association are getting up petitions that will be sent to Strasbourg.
Some 140 families of internally displaced people, of who 24 families of policemen, live in Chisinau at present. // Reporter.MD
