Transnistria's Chamber of Commerce and Industry has sent an address to Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Vladimir Rushailo asking him to lay the issue of the current situation in Transnistria before the CIS authorities. Furthermore, the Chamber asked Rushailo to initiate proceedings against the decision made by Moldova and Ukraine at the CIS Economic Court. The decision has to be examined for compliance with the memorandum on normalization of relations between Moldova and Transnistria of 1997 and other regulatory documents.
The Chamber's address underscores that representatives of Russia's business community are seriously concerned about the consequences of the new procedure for goods transit via the Transnistrian stretch of the Ukrainian-Moldovan border imposed by Moldovan and Ukrainian authorities on March 3, 2006.
