Voronin declared Moldova will not join NATO

"We are not going to join NATO. First of all, there is the Constitution, which states that Moldova is a neutral state. Secondly, we are creating room for maneuver as far as the Transdniestria settlement is concerned....
We know that Moldova could be re-unified only through a reduction in the military presence," Voronin said in an interview with the Nezavisimaya Gazeta published on Friday.

"Those who want to see Transdniestria become an independent republic do not like this approach," says Voronin.
