European Union takes into account amendments by Russia to Victor Yushchenk'splan on Transdniestrian settlement.

"President Yushchenko has readied a very constructive plan. Your Russian friends made some amendments to it and we hope that the problem will be settled", EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana said at a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuri Yekhanurov, by way of commenting on Ukraine's efforts to settle the Transdniestrian conflict.
Mr Solana confirmed that the European Union, which together with the USA was invited to observe the settlement of the Transdniestrian conflict, is going to use the Ukrainian President's proposals. However he refused specifying which amendments Russia has made, referring to the EU and the USA as just observers in the process.
