Whenever you come across a Transnistria website you will, without fail, always find a page about the money – and this site is no exception. One of the stipulations for being recognised as a country in the worldwide community is to print one’s own bank notes and mint one’s own coins, to have a currency that is in use.

It is thought that this is the main reason we have the Transnistria Ruble (pictured below), and why all the Transnistria sites make a show of mentioning it. Or, in juxtaposition, why you probably wont see the money mentioned on anti-Transnistria websites, those who do not wish to view Transnistria as an independent country.

Whatever the original reasons were for it’s creation, the Transnistria Ruble, divided into 100 kopecks, is there and in use.
